Often called The Queen of Latin Pop, actress and singer Thalía is one of Mexico’s most popular and influential performers.
∙ Thalía was the breakout star of the influential Mexican pop group Timbiriche and performed on 1987’s Timbiriche VII—one of the best-selling Mexican albums of all time.
∙ She released her double-Gold-certified debut solo album, Thalía, in 1990.
∙ En Éxtasis, her 1995 double-Platinum-selling album, included the global hit lead single “Piel Morena.”
∙ In 2000, she topped both Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums and Hot Latin Songs charts with the double-Platinum-certified Arransando and her single “Entre el Mar y una Estrella.”
∙ As the star of several telenovelas, including Quinceañera, María Mercedes, and Rosalinda, she’s credited with popularizing the genre worldwide.
