Artist Biography
Fito Paez is an Argentine singer, songwriter, author, screenwriter, and film director. A founding member of the political artist's movement La Trova Rosarina, he is one of Argentine rock's most beloved cultural figures. After a decade of releasing records, Paez broke into the mainstream with 1992's El Amor Después del Amor -- the best-selling rock record in Argentina's history. After years of pop chart success, he returned to playing rock on 2006's Grammy-winning El Mundo Cabe en una Canción. In 2010 Páez closed the main stage of the Bicentennial Revolución de Mayo, playing a two-hour concert for an audience of more than two million. In 2013, he published his first novel, La Puta Diabla. In 2017, Paez released the acclaimed experimental electronic work La Ciudad Liberada. He issued the autobiographical Los Años Salvajes in 2021 and was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Latin Grammy Foundation.
