About Fair Maiden
Formed in the end of the 2000s in Adelaide, South Australia, Fair Maiden is led by scene fixture Ellen Carey, who has also worked in bands Birth Glow and Jemima Jemima, among others. The band formed a mysterious sound which drew on disparate elements from both medieval music, country rock, and '60s pop. The band worked for years, eventually recording a self-titled debut with the lineup of Carey, Steph Crase, Joel Carey, and Liam Kenny. By the time the album was released in 2014, the lineup had shifted some, with Joel Carey and Kenny being replaced by Hamish Baird and Noah Renolds. ~ Fred Thomas
