Artist Biography
Traversing the U.S. from a young age, pop singer/songwriter Johnnie Mikel delivers high-energy dance anthems influenced by Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and John Mayer. Born in Kentucky in 1997, Mikel moved to New York City at age eleven. There, he expanded his world view and delved into music, learning guitar and writing lyrics. He moved to Nashville to write his first songs and develop his stage presence before shipping off to Los Angeles to record. His first single, "Come with Me," arrived in 2017. The bright electro-pop track was co-written with Lindy Robbins (Jason Derulo, Demi Lovato) and produced by Damon Sharpe (Ariana Grande, Pitbull), later appearing on his debut EP, Night of Your Life. Mikel followed the five-song set with the synth-forward single "Friday Night," which was later remixed by Dave Aude and Richard Vission, among others. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
