About Weser-Renaissance
Weser-Renaissance has devoted itself to exploring 16th and 17th century repertoire under the direction of musicologist and conductor Manfred Cordes. Its work is rooted in an approach that combines musicological research with historically informed performance on period instruments, with particular attention given to the musical traditions of Northern Europe. Among its major releases is Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck: Pseaumes de David (2025), a recording dedicated to the composer often regarded as one of the leading figures in the transition from the Renaissance to the Baroque, followed in 2026 by an album of music by the little-known Italian composer Vincenzo Albrici.
