UK rapper Nafe Smalls has built an international audience with his unique mix of grime, hip-hop, dancehall, and other sounds.
• Hailing from Luton—30 miles northwest on London—Smallz first began to garner attention in the underground UK hip-hop scene when he partnered with fellow rapper Young Delz for the 2013 mixtape New Year’s Eve Special.
• By 2016, Smallz had released his first two solo projects—Ozone Music and Project O—and earned national attention with a “Fire In The Booth” freestyle on BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Rap Show with Charlie Sloth.
• His 2018 project Movie Music features UK rap heavyweights like Chip, Stefflon Don, and Yung Fume.
• Smallz guests on Skepta’s “Greaze Mode,” a Top 20 hit off the grime rap veteran’s 2019 Ignorance Is Bliss.
• Later that year, Smallz offered “Riding on E” and “8 Missed Calls” to the soundtrack of British drama series Top Boy.
• In early 2020, his Goat World project hit No. 12 on the UK charts. Toward the end of the year, he broke into the Top 10 with DNA, a collaborative album with rapper M Huncho.
