Baritone Florian Sempey specializes in the operas of Rossini but has a large repertory stretching from Rameau to Mahler. He also often appears as a song recitalist and in orchestral concerts. At 21, Sempey made his debut at the Bordeaux Opera, singing the role of Papageno in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. In 2015, Sempey made his recording debut on a performance of Rameau's opera Castor et Pollux with the early music ensemble Pygmalion. Sempey has appeared at major opera houses both in France and beyond. He has appeared in song recitals with pianist Antoine Palloc. In 2018, he appeared on a recording of Rameau's opera Naïs with the Orfeo Orchestra. The year 2022 brought a pair of Sempey releases, an appearance on Rameau: Nouvelle Symphonie with conductor Marc Minkowski and Les Musiciens de Louvre, and his solo orchestral recital debut, Figaro? Si!, featuring arias from various Rossini operas.
