About Ab2olute
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I always sang along to my uncle’s music, never expecting him to notice. One day, he heard me and let me record the hook for the official release. Hearing my voice on a record didn’t spark my passion for music, but it deepened it.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? J. Cole, 2014 Forest Hills Drive JAŸ-Z, The Black Album Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly “2014 Forest Hills Drive” introduced me to J. Cole—its stories mirrored my life and changed my outlook. “To Pimp a Butterfly” showed music’s depth. “The Black Album” is sentimental; I grew up hearing my uncle rap its lyrics.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Close To Me” This was when my music evolved. I was shifting from childhood to adulthood. It also reflects the end of my last relationship, symbolizing change and closure. I love this song because it captures transformation, both in my life and art.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? One thing on my bucket list is to work with J. Cole when I reach that level—hopefully before he retires.
