Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I spent my childhood quitting instruments... drums, saxophone, and piano. When I got to high school, I saw that every other kid was playing guitar, so I figured I should catch up. Ever since then, I've been addicted to making music.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Brandi Carlile, Brandi Carlile (Bonus Track Version) Queens of the Stone Age, Songs for the Deaf Screaming Trees, Sweet Oblivion Two of these albums have Mark Lanegan in common. His voice was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I've spent decades wishing I could sound like him. Brandi Carlile's debut album is flawless: raw, powerful, and genuine.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Roll On” This song comes straight out of real life, like all good music should. I'd been asked by an ex to come to dinner, and like an idiot, I went. I spent the entire time reliving the pain of our failed relationship, wishing I could do anything to leave.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Very early in my musical journey, I was asked by several different people to sing at their weddings. And they didn't ask for just any song -- they wanted to hear "If Ever," one of the first songs I ever recorded.
