Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories was getting my first MPC 1000 and applying what I’d learned from playing drums and music theory in school. With no formal MPC training, I taught myself how to operate the sampler through trial and error.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? 2Pac, Me Against the World Cam’ron, Purple Haze DMX, It's Dark and Hell Is Hot 2Pac’s Me Against the World showed me the passion in hip-hop early on. DMX’s It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot gave me raw energy and emotion. Cam’ron’s Purple Haze shaped my production style and made me want to work with him.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “You Ain't Safe” My favorite track is the instrumental I produced, “You Ain’t Safe,” because it shows how I blend hi-hats, drums, and melodies into a dark, cohesive sound. The structure and pattern choices really define my style and bring depth to the production.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One major moment was producing “Funeral” for Cam’ron on 1st of the Month Vol. 1. Another was “Medellin” on Purple Haze 2, which came full circle. And producing “Gorilla Lion Hyena” with Cam’ron, Jadakiss, and Mase was truly historic.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There’s always more to check off. I’d love to do more scoring and theme work for film, TV, or podcasts. I produced the intro for Cam’ron’s It Is What It Is podcast, and expanding deeper into entertainment is definitely on my bucket list.
