In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I am the daughter of Seán Tyrrell, Irish icon. My earliest memories are of him shaping old poetry into song, as on Cry of a Dreamer, using music as resistance and rising. I learned songs are both weapon and medicine. I am born of that lineage.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? DOBBY, Warrangu: River Story Patti Smith, The Essential Patti Smith Sean Tyrrell, The Best of Sean Tyrrell - Man for Galway Seán Tyrrell’s albums grew me, taught my Irish culture and songs as resistance. Patti Smith’s wort gave me permission to be fierce and ungovernable. DOBBY’s WARRANGU inspires me to fuse HipHop with justice following collabs with Indigenous artists
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “SINGING OUR WAY HOME (feat. Leah Manaema Avene)” SINGING OUR WAY HOME is a medicine song born from exile and return, weaving community voices across lands. It’s a reminder that in fractured times, singing together carries us back to belonging, hope, and each other.
