European pianist and composer Alessandro Sgobbio is known for his thoughtfully rendered, classically influenced modern creative jazz. He debuted in 2010 with the solo piano album Aforismi Protestanti and followed with the 2013 trio date Charm. He also co-leads the Pericopes duo with saxophonist Emiliano Vernizzi. Following small group albums like 2018's Silent Fires and 2021's Transparence, he returned to solo work with 2022's Piano Music.
