About Almamy
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Seeing Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" video for the first time as a kid.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Bon Iver, i,i
Earl Sweatshirt, Live Laugh Love
Flying Lotus, Cosmogramma
The super fresh, exploratory and layered soundscapes built around the songs tell as much as the actual songwriting. These are albums in the truest sense, and some of my all-time favorites.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Digital Love”
I love what I was able to do with this. It's a cover of a well-known, and beloved, song but I wanted to take it somewhere else by composing and building a radically different sonic world around the original vocal melodies and lyrics.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Hearing one of my songs, Digital Love actually, for the first time on the radio, while reading up an awesome review of it in a physical magazine. It was a glorious day. Major goosebumps.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
Lots. Release my trilogy of albums, direct a few films and achieve immortality. Necessarily in that order!
