About Among The Missing
A doom-laden sludge metal band hailing from London, England, Among the Missing (sometimes going by the abbreviation A.T.M.) formed in 2001, but it wasn't until 2003 that membership rotation ended and some stability came to the group. Originally called the Missing, the group released its first work, Peter Beardsley J**m Holocaust, in 2002. In 2003 the lineup of Don (guitar and vocals), Kev (guitar), Craig (bass), and Pat (drums) finally came together, and Among the Missing got down to brass tacks. A demo followed, and in 2004 the group made its first split-single appearance with Red Stars Parade. More split releases were to follow in 2005, and eventually -- through the label Withered Hand -- Among the Missing were able to release an official full-length of their own: 2005's Disorder of the Templar featured a myriad of guest appearances, and was bolstered by a steady schedule of live appearances. In addition to the stage work and splits, Among the Missing built up their following by appearing on a vast number of compilations for a number of different labels and a handful of magazines, such as Terrorizer. In 2007, the band returned to the world of releasing albums, with that year's Cease to Exist. ~ Chris True
