Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My dad was a huge Johnny Cash fan. I remember him playing me and my sister the live version of "A Boy Named Sue" when I was little, and the three of us laughing our heads off at the lyrics. In spite of the violent parts.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Patty Griffin, Impossible Dream Shelby Lynne, Tears, Lies and Alibis Trisha Yearwood, Thinkin' About You Patty, Trisha, and Shelby are three of my favorite artists of all time. Goosebumps and tears all the way. Favorite track from each one: "Florida" from "Impossible Dream", "On a Bus to St. Cloud" from "Thinkin' About You", and "Alibi" from "Tears..."
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Karoline With a K” Karoline was my great-great aunt who came to the US as an immigrant in the 1880s. Upon finding her letters in the attic in our farm house in Norway when I was a kid, my life took on a whole new direction. This song was inspired by her story.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? So many... But I have to mention performing at the National Daughters of Norway Convention in Portland, OR in 2018. I sure wasn't expecting a standing ovation, or to sell two entire boxes of CDs. I was blown away by these amazing women.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I have a lot of things I'd love to do! Get a song cut by a major artist. Perform at Americanafest in Nashville. Or Merlefest. Or... I could go on and on.
