About Anna von Hausswolff
Anna von Hausswolff is a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, and pianist from Sweden who made her album debut with Singing from the Grave in 2010 -- it was well-received by critics, who drew comparisons to singer/songwriters Kate Bush and Antony Hegarty, among others. She moved to Denmark and switched up her musical and sonic palettes (she recorded most of the record with a church organ as her primary instrument) on 2012's Ceremony. In the fall of 2015, she released The Miraculous, a song cycle that touched on everything from gothic folk and pop music to black and death metal. The full-length Dead Magic was issued in early March of 2018. She released All Thoughts Fly on Southern Lord in 2020, and in 2022 released Live at Montreux Jazz Festival. On Halloween 2025, von Hausswolff released Iconoclasts, showcasing a much more accessible sound on Sweden's Year0001 label.
