About Atli Örvarsson
Incorporating keyboards and electronics into often tense orchestral scores, Atli Örvarsson is a film and television composer associated primarily with the crime and thriller genres. A keyboardist and percussionist, he is also known in his native Iceland as a onetime member of the platinum-selling rock band Sálin Hans Jóns Míns. Getting his start in film in the early 2000s, he had worked on movies such as Babylon A.D. (2008), Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013), and The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) as well as the multiple entries in Law & Order and Chicago Fire TV franchises before releasing his solo debut album, You Are Here, a relatively serene set of wistful instrumentals. Örvarsson released a duo album with Sin Fang (Flóra) and his solo follow-up (7 Cycles) before taking home his first BAFTA TV Award for the dystopian series Silo (2023). The show also made him an Emmy nominee.
