Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a toddler, I laid my dad’s wrenches on the sofa and hit them with a spoon to make random notes. None were from a real scale, but I made up a song about the ice cream man — just whatever was on my mind at the time.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Peter Gabriel, Peter Gabriel 3: Melt (Remastered) Talking Heads, The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads (Live) Expanded Version The Police, The Police These were all songs that when I heard them on the radio, I realized music could be different, more exciting and weirder than 99% of the stuff they played.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Strange Weather (feat. Liela Söder)” This was a risk in a way, the ES genre really encourages uptempo danceable tracks. But we decided to do a sexy downtempo track about Bonnie & Clyde. Storytelling with a touch of romanticism. It’s been consistently well received. So I’m proud of that.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? A very famous, A-list Hollywood composer pursued me for weeks while I was out of country to provide the music for his wedding. it was a black tie, star studded affair at a very famous club in downtown Los Angeles. Kinda felt like we really made it.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Brace yourselves. I’m a dreamer. Because I love seeing shows at this particular venue and because it would be such a great place to play… I really want to shake some booties at the Hollywood bowl. From my lips to God‘s ears… Make it so! :)
