Swedish singer, DJ, and electronic music producer Basshunter has blessed the world with Eurodance masterpieces like “All I Ever Wanted” and “Boten Anna.”
• Growing up, Basshunter was a video game fanatic. He became interested in singing when he joined his mother’s choir as a teenager. In 1999, he began selling albums via his own website.
• Upon signing a lucrative deal with Warner Music in 2006, Basshunter gave a proper release to “Boten Anna,” a Swedish-language track that had previously been an internet sensation. The single charted across Europe and hit No. 1 in Sweden and the Netherlands.
• “Now You’re Gone,” the English-language version of “Boten Anna,” reached No. 1 on the UK charts in early 2008 and stayed there for five weeks.
• Basshunter’s 2008 Eurodance earworm “All I Ever Wanted”—another English-language remake of an earlier song—peaked at No. 2 in the UK.
• He’s also dabbled in reality TV, appearing on Celebrity Big Brother 7 and the British edition of Weakest Link.
