In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
One of the first ever musical memories I have is going over to Reid Millar's house after school in grade 4 and listening to Black Sabbath and AC/DC on Tape Cassette. Right then and there we decided we were going to start a band. - Sean Hackl What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Fugazi, 13 Songs
Primal Scream, Screamadelica
Radiohead, The Bends
13 Songs just embodies rawness and the powerful driving rhythms just make you feel so badass.
The Bends is iconic, it's obviously a classic... This one is just an amazing album musically and lyrically.
Screamadelica is simply an amazing album! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Blank Screen”
Blankscreen is a special for us, we've been playing it as long as the band has existed and was actually based off an earlier song we had written as a different band. Blankscreen is full of emotion and exuberation—playing it is pure catharsis. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
It might have been after our first public show back after our big hiatus. The vibe was just really great and we got a ton of great compliments, this definitely inspired us to keep going and see where we can take the project! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
We'd love to go to Europe and the UK. We have toured around Canada quite a bit, but have never gone overseas to play as BBQ Pope. So bringing the project over there would definitely be a bucket list goal for us, we'd love to play some festivals!
