Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember playing "Drops of Jupiter" on the piano at my 8th grade talent show. I had my whole family and friends in the crowd chanting my name which made me feel so special. I knew then I wanted to pursue a career in music.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chris Stapleton, Traveller Eric Church, Mr. Misunderstood Johnny Cash, At Folsom Prison Live "Record Year" is one of the most well-written songs I've ever heard. I love the whole record of "Folsom" because you can hear the prisoners cheering & the atmosphere of it all - closest thing to time travel. Stapleton is a songwriting genius.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Church & Cash” This one has always been special to me because it was one of the first writes I ever had when I moved to town. I also wrote it w/ a buddy of mine - Stephen Ray. I had the idea in my phone for 2-3 years & it all came together finally in under an hour.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I got invited to play a song at the Bluebird Café in Nashville, TN w/ some of my songwriting heroes. Tony Arata's guitar was having issues so he asked to play mine. He then began to play "The Dance" on my childhood guitar in the historic music venue.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? A goal of mine is to play the Grand Ol Opry and the legendary Ryman venue. These are bucket list dreams/aspirations of mine. My career is already more successful than I ever even dreamed it would be. I'm very thankful to call this a "job."
