Binki Shapiro gained notice when she appeared in videos to promote Beck's The Information. The next year she met the Strokes' Fabrizio Moretti and Los Hermanos' Rodrigo Amarante. Shapiro suggested that the two friends work together, and they asked her to join the band, Little Joy, which released a self-titled album in 2008. Shapiro appeared on albums by Megapuss, Sia, and Beck; soon thereafter, she met Adam Green and the two began collaborating. The breakups each writer was going through informed the finished songs, the first of which were released in 2012 on the Fall EP. The duo's folky duets and incisive lyrics were on display on the full-length Adam Green & Binki Shapiro, released in early 2013. ~ Tim Sendra
