The stage name of New Zealand-born, London-based singer, songwriter, and producer Sarah Foley, Blake specializes in melancholic alt-pop characterized by tasteful electronics, sparse instrumentation, and deeply felt lyrics rooted in themes of loss, struggle, and perseverance. The Queenstown native started in the drum'n'bass scene, earning a best vocalist nomination at the 2017 DnB Awards, before leaving her dance roots behind with the release of 2022's inward-looking, pop-leaning Skeptical EP. Blake continued to refine her sound on 2024's acclaimed I'm Doing Fine, a five-song set that expertly paired atmospheric production with introspective lyrics. Later that year, she capitalized on the EP's success with the one-off streaming hit "The Gift You Gave Me."
