Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I began singing and finding a true passion for music at a young age finding love from my dad's diverse collection of R&B, Soul & Reggae. At age 12, I took inspiration to make Hip hop music from southern artist Ludacris' album The Red Light District
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Drake, Take Care J. Cole, 2014 Forest Hills Drive Michael Jackson, Thriller These albums taught me the art of story telling in music and really helped craft the sound you know today from Blu J.D.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Late Nights, Early Mornings (feat. Dabron Kain & Gwendolyn Ness)” I wrote this song when I was at one of my lowest points. This realistically started my path towards Reflection, but also towards redemption and forgiveness to allow myself to work towards my goals and dreams.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was able to meet many artist, but meeting H.E.R. and being told, "I'll see you at the top" really helped me stay focused and dedicated to the work I had ahead.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Festivals. I want to be able to perform at multiple festivals before I hang up the Mic. But there's so much more that I would love to do!
