In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Around 1969, at the age of nine, I heard the Herb Alpert album, “Going Places”, for the first time. It was happy, fun music, with a lively beat, not quite like anything I had ever heard before. I spent the next few years finding every Herb album.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Super Smooth” When I was recording the melody for this song, I felt something come over me that was almost surreal. I knew something special was happening, and I just played what I felt, all improv. It was all captured perfectly on take one.
