Artist Biography
One of the most enduring of the boy-next-door pop idols who sprang up in the early 1960s, Bobby Vinton scored a series of smash hits, including the U.S. chart-toppers "Roses Are Red (My Love)," and "Blue Velvet." A superb crooner who successfully brought his Mel Torme/Bing Crosby-influenced style to teenage rock-&-roll audiences just prior to the British Invasion, Vinton later became a top supper club artist and even hosted his own television series. In 1989, Vinton's hit song was employed as an integral part of the film BLUE VELVET and sparked a revival of interest in his career. As a result, the singer remained a popular draw on the cabaret circuit into the following century.
