What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Beck, Mutations Various Artists, Shalimar (Original Soundtrack) Yma Sumac, Legend of the Sun Virgin We started out as an Yma Sumac cover band, but quickly became something more, as we were already composers ourselves, and also needed to add to the list. Shalimar is one of the greatest scores by the greatest Hindi film scorer.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Taki Rari” One of our first charts. It made us into a band, and is our love letter to Yma Sumac.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2013 when two ginormous corporations wanted to use the same song of ours (El Final del Pachanga). Citibank got the song for a 30-sec spot; Hermes got it for a short film directed by Yara Travieso, but they never used it.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We'd love to score some films, perhaps working with a favorite director, like David Lynch or Wes Anderson. Also work with a visionary like Laurie Anderson or David Byrne.
