London's James Wilson, operating under the moniker Boxwork, produces a smooth, slightly playful mixture of house, U.K. garage, and techno, with broken beats, lush chords, and occasional nods to jazz and hip-hop. He made his debut in 2013 with a self-titled EP on LNUK Records, which was quickly followed by Specialists on NORD Records. Two EPs, Voodoo Gently and Pressureface, followed in 2014. Spooks and Thrills was released by West Norwood Cassette Library's WNCL Recordings in 2016. Boxwork's ambitious debut full-length, Dive Left, arrived in 2017, courtesy of Shades Recordings. ~ Paul Simpson
