Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
A 2025 City of Chicago Individual Artists Program awardee, Citro studied with renowned guitarist Fareed Haque and is a member of The Drastics. His quartet features Nick Mazzarella, Quin Kirchner, and Matt Ulery, and he co-leads The Hey Lows.

What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
In 2026, Citro released Keep Moving (Home) on Calligram Records, featuring 14 compositions performed by his quartet. Recorded to tape by engineer Dave Vettraino, the album presents an “emotionally resonant… convergence of composition [and] sound."
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
Citro's music flows from his experiences as a musician and human rights lawyer living in India and traveling across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. His playing stems from the jazz tradition and is informed by Chicago's rich musical heritage.
