Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I won the talent quest at my school when I was ten years old by playing Richard Clayderman's Ballad for Adeline. I learnt to play it one week before the competition so drove my family insane by practising it a million times.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Beirut, The Rip Tide Miles Davis, In a Silent Way New Order, Power, Corruption & Lies The first record I ever bought was New Order. I rocked my infant son to sleep every night for months to The Rip Tide. Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock & Joe Zawainul all play on Silent Way and I love Miles Davis's playing at this stage of his career.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Worms Ate My Flesh” One of the first tracks I ever made. I borrowed a friend's loop pedal & spent a whole weekend recording loops to mini disc as I didn't have a computer. 20 years later I finally finished the track. The title comes from a vivid nightmare I once had.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I have seven other musical projects so it's hard to pick a moment but playing at a festival in Poland with my (then) eight year old son in Cosmo & the Cosmonaut was quite amazing. I think I was more nervous than he was.
