About Busted
English rock band Busted formed when Charlie Simpson answered a musician-wanted ad placed by songwriting partners James Bourne and Matt Willis.
∙ A fan of Back to the Future, Bourne inserted references to the movie in the lyrics of Busted’s song “Year 3000.”
∙ The trio had four No. 1 UK singles, beginning with “You Said No,” in the early 2000s.
∙ In 2004, they played Wembley Arena an impressive 11 times.
∙ Busted’s bassist and co-vocalist Willis won a season of the UK reality show I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! by eating such bizarre foods as crocodile eye and mealworms.
∙ Outside of Busted, Bourne played in the group Son of Dork and has the solo project Future Boy, while Simpson fronts post-hardcore band Fightstar.
∙ In 2014, Busted and fellow UK superstars McFly joined forces to record and tour as the supergroup McBusted.
