About Candlemass
Sweden's Candlemass are one of the key bands to come out of the post-New Wave of British Heavy Metal and post-thrash scenes and have remained at he forefront of the modern doom metal movement. Emerging in 1986 with the landmark Epicus Doomicus Metallicus, the band issued four more influential albums before splitting in 1994. They reunited three years later and released Dactylis Glomerata, but called it quits shortly thereafter. Candlemass officially re-formed in 2004 and issued a string of acclaimed albums including Candlemass (2005), Psalms for the Dead (2012), The Door to Doom (2019), and Sweet Evil Sun (2022). The double live Tritonus Nights appeared in May 2024. Candlemass released the Black Star EP, containing two originals -- the title cut and the instrumental "Corridors of Chao" -- alongside covers of Black Sabbath's "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and Pentagram's "Forever My Queen."
