Rising from the thriving Richmond, Virginia hardcore scene, Candy are a thoroughly uncompromising and aggressive band whose attack combines punk at its most ferocious with several schools of extreme metal, adding dashes of electronica and Brit-pop for seasoning, delivering a sound that's both eclectic and punishing. The onslaught of their early work was best experienced on their 2017 EP Candy Says and the 2018 album Good to Feel. With 2022's Heaven Is Here and 2024's It's Inside You, the group's individual elements were better blended without blunting their bone-snapping impact.
