About Carach Angren
Carach Angren are a symphonic black metal trio from the Netherlands whose sound is rich in texture, orchestration, and dynamics, often utilizing string players to highlight their intense meld of guitars, drums, keyboards, and multilingual vocals. All of their recordings are concept albums and feature a carefully produced aesthetic that weds dynamically arranged strings in faux-classical style with furious blastbeats, buzzing guitars, and harsh vocals woven through extraordinary depth and detail in their storytelling They call their music "horror metal," though fans would disagree given the sophistication of their music. 2008's Lammendam and 2009's Death Came Through a Phantom Ship appeared from Maddening Media to the acclaim of European critics. For 2012's Where the Corpses Sink Forever, they signed with Season of Mist. They've remained with the label there over an additional three albums including 2020's Frankensteina Strataemontanus. They returned with the five-track Cult of Kariba in 2025.
Members of Carach Angren include, or have included, Clemens Wijers.
