Born on February 9, 1980, Cassandra Steen emerged as a member of the group Glashaus, whose commercial debut in 2001 spawned the Top Five hit single "Wenn Das Liebe Ist." Successive Glashaus albums were commercially successful as well, and Steen subsequently decided to make her solo debut in 2003 with Seele mit Herz. The album was relatively unsuccessful, and Steen retreated, focusing her talents on high-profile guest features as a vocalist on hit German rap songs. In the wake of these guest features, Steen relaunched her solo career with the album Darum Leben Wir (2009). Released in association with Universal Music, the album and its title track were Top Ten hits. ~ Jason Birchmeier
