Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My father bought himself the "Miseducation of Lauren Hill". That album changed my life. I knew all the lyrics, and I was so moved by the story that to me it will forever be the most flawless piece of art I've ever experienced.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Amy Winehouse, Frank Kanye West, Late Registration Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill The top 3 are hard, but Kanye West's "Late Registration", Lauren Hill's "The Miseducation of Lauren Hill", and Amy Winehouse's "Frank" are works. Each album has their own distinctive narrative that emphasises the artist's personality.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Crazy Love” This song hurts me more than it means to me. I wrote it in hindsight about someone I loved and lost because of my own self-sabotage. By the time I understood what I’d done, she was already gone. This song is my realisation in real time.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My most memorable moment has to be collaborating with Riky Rick. It wasn’t planned at all; he heard the song, said, ‘I need to be on this,’ and jumped into the booth before I could even respond. That moment gave me the validation I needed in my art.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yeah, there’s still a lot I haven’t done. I’ve never gone on tour or performed for more than 500 people. But at the same time, I feel like I’ve done enough with what God gave me. Could I have done better? Probably. The real question is how.
