Music became my escape from the chaos around me, validating my emotions and fueling my imagination. Above all, it brought me joy.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Black Uhuru, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner - The Best of Black Uhuru Bob Marley & The Wailers, Legend – The Best Of Bob Marley & The Wailers Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is everything! Her vulnerability, soulfulness, and talent inspire me. Legend is a classic, sonically and lyrically rich. Sly & Robbie’s drum and bass hits deep, like soulful aggression on the Black Uhuru record
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Victory” Victory is the song I never knew I needed. It marks my conscious shift into production, creating music from joy and vulnerability. This song has healed me, and what makes it special is that it was created with God as the only audience in mind.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most unforgettable moments for me was opening for John Mayer with Michael Franti & Spearhead for two nights at Madison Square Garden. It completely expanded my imagination. The music, the musicianship, the connection... Transformative!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Absolutely! I’m just getting started. Everything I’ve done so far has prepared me for the musical growth I believe I’m being called into. In many ways, this is my true starting point.
