Roger "Chip" Wickham is a saxophonist, flutist, producer, and composer who resides between Madrid, Doha, and the U.K. His open, warm tone complements his signature brand of modal jazz that weaves the spiritual and vanguard traditions of the '60s and '70s yet reflects the creative British scene's 21st century innovations and global music traditions. Before releasing his first two acclaimed albums -- the self-produced La Sombra in 2017 and Shamal Wind a year later -- Wickham served as a producer, sideman, and multi-instrumentalist with Nightmares on Wax, the Pharcyde, Graham Massey, and others. His third album, 2020's Blue to Red, released during the pandemic, won critical and DJ accolades internationally. Wickham signed to trumpeter Matthew Halsall's Gondwana label for 2022's Cloud 10. The following year he issued the Love & Life EP with his quartet. In 2025, Wickham served as a featured co-billed soloist on the Lewis Express's Doo-Ha! in March, and in September issued The Eternal Now with an octet.
Chip Wickham has also released music as a member of Maléna.
