Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. From 2013-2017 I participated in multiple musicals at COCA (Center of Creative Arts). My first musical was In The Heights, my first lead role was Twig in Bring It On: The Musical, and I originated a role in the original musical The Gringo.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jill Scott, Experience: Jill Scott 826+ Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly OutKast, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below Speakerboxxx/The Love Below was the project that made me fall in love with hip hop. Jill Scott 826+ is the perfect blend of live music, audience engagement and one of my favorite singers of all time. TPAB is the best modern hip hop album. No debate.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Life Jacket (feat. Dareios)” This track marked the beginning of my label/music group Bandzup Exclusive, a budding relationship with St. Louis R&B artist Dareios, and grew my confidence in my production. Fun fact: the same day this song was recorded, Facelift was also recorded!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? It's a current experience, but being at ground zero of the new era of St. Louis hip hop is breathtaking. Watching so many artists cultivate themselves alongside you is awe-inspiring to say the least.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Of the many things on our bucket list, Bandzup's top 3 priorities would consist of our own clothing line - if not multiple -, our own podcast, growing our fanbases and a US tour!
