Named for the band's remedy for their hometown's sunny days, Los Angeles' Cold Showers strike a balance between menacing post-punk and jangly indie pop. Singer/bassist Jonathan Weinberg, singer/guitarist Jessie Clavin, keyboardist Brian Davila, drummer Renee Adams, and guitarist Chris King formed the band in 2010. Their boy-girl vocals and fuzzed-out guitars drew comparisons to X and the Jesus and Mary Chain with their first release, the 2011 Mexican Summer single Highlands. Another single, 2012's Decay, preceded Cold Showers' debut mini-album, Love and Regret. ~ Heather Phares
