Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I learnt to play music in the back of a pub at home, my lessons where only three quid and you'd normally be playing next to the glass washer in the backroom or the washing machine as it went off.

I love interesting voices. These three singers are ones that captured me from the first word I heard. I am constantly discovering old music, or the music of people that have passed away. I like listening to the legacy that people leave behind.

I wrote this after one of the more unusual jobs I've had, teaching a choir in mens prisons in South London. I wanted to shed light on a group hidden from society, share their stories and think about how I feel about our current justice system.
