About Cookie Rabinowitz
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I found old records in my dad's desk drawer, Sly Stone, Hendrix, Otis Redding at Monterey. Nothing like the Barry Manilow my parents played. He got them from someone he was helping get clean. Those records hit different and changed everything for me.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Curtis Mayfield, Curtis Mayfield - Superfly, The Legendary Funkstar
Sly & The Family Stone, The Essential Sly & The Family Stone
Stevie Wonder, The Complete Stevie Wonder
Fresh by Sly Stone, Super Fly by Curtis Mayfield, and Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder. Three records built on groove, soul, and fearlessness. Everything I make traces back to what those albums taught me about feel.

“Learn To Play”
I wrote this about those days where the voices are loud and you don't want to leave the house, but you pick up the guitar anyway. It's about staying in your lane and building despite the noise. The title is both literal and a reminder to keep going.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
I heard my song "Learn to Play" on 88.5 WXPN during Dan Reed's drive time show. I'd been grinding DJing nights, making music on my days off, rebuilding. Hearing it on Philly radio made the work feel real for the first time.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
There's no bucket list. I just want to keep growing, keep building, and hope the music touches as many people as possible. Every new listener who connects with a song is the whole point.
