About CrisisDarling
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Kid in a church play. Shyest person in the room. They needed someone to hit an impossible high note and somehow that someone was me. I opened my mouth, hit it, and the whole building went quiet. I've been chasing that three seconds ever since.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Angelo Badalamenti, Twin Peaks (Soundtrack From)
Enya, Watermark
R.E.M., Out of Time 2016 Remaster
Watermark proved atmosphere is an instrument. Twin Peaks taught me beauty and darkness play in the same key. Losing My Religion showed me a song doesn't have to explain itself to be understood.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
The first time a stranger commented on one of my tracks and described exactly the feeling I'd put into it using words I hadn't used. That's the moment it stopped being my music and started being theirs.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I want to hear one of my songs playing in a place where nobody knows it's mine. A coffee shop, a stranger's car, someone's headphones on the train. I just want to accidentally overhear my own work in the wild. Everything else is a bonus.
