Artist Biography
Dénes Várjon appears and records as a chamber musician as frequently as he does as a piano soloist. Recitals with fellow musicians such as Steven Isserlis, Miklós Perényi, Tabea Zimmermann, András Schiff, the Takács and Endellion quartets are often on his schedule, alongside appearances with conductors such as Heinz Holliger, Adam Fischer, and Thomas Zehetmair. Várjon has played the music of the great Romantic pianist-composers and much 20th century music as well. Precipitando, juxtaposing solo piano pieces of Alban Berg, Leos Janácek, and Franz Liszt, was released in early 2012.
