About Danheim
A dark Nordic folk project from Danish multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Schæfer Olsen, Danheim's icy blend of Viking mythology and ambient Scandinavian folk music evokes the sonic heathenry of contemporaries like Wardruna and Hagalaz Runedance. Inspired by runic legends and Danish folklore, Olsen began to explore his heritage via song in the early 2000s. He began releasing music under the Danheim moniker in 2017, beginning with the full-lengths Munarvagr and Mannavegr. In 2018, he launched his own independent label, Fimbul Records, with the intention of issuing future Danheim releases, as well as material from other artists in the Nordic folk genre. Herja and Fridr were released that year, with Runagaldr and Hringras arriving in early 2019. ~ James Christopher Monger
