About Danyl
French rapper and singer Danyl Boudali was born in 1998 in Val-de-Marne, part of the larger Paris metropolitan area. Growing up in a family well-versed in the Algerian musical traditions, Danyl learned the piano and studied at the Paris Conservatory. Upon entering his teens, however, his head was turned around by rap music and the creative possibilities of beatmaking and songwriting. After a few years making tracks for other artists such as Bianca Costa and SDM, Danyl decided to assume rapping duties himself. Contrary to most French rappers, typically either ostentatious or antagonistic, in his songs Danyl postured nuanced depictions of identity, masculinity, and living in a multicultural society, set to a captivating blend of hip-hop and Algerian raï music. Released in early 2026, his debut album ZMIG put him firmly in the "upcoming artists to watch" category.
