Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Recording my first rap song at Bay Area legendary producer Ant Banks home studio for my senior project in high school.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Erykah Badu, Baduizm Kanye West, Graduation N.E.R.D, In Search Of... Baduizm changed R&B and was a catalyst for the beginning of neo-soul. In Search Of was another example of the limitlessness of black music. It proved that there weren't any boundaries. Graduation is spiritual. I would to pray before work mornings.;
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “BART” This speaks of my daily routines and the things I take pride in. God, food, books and money. My role as a father and husband, a Realtor and emcee. With a specific reference to the Bay Area in the title it also suggests the pride I have in the Bay.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Freestyling on Sway In The Morning, in New York City at Shade45 with my group MacArthur Maze is one of my proudest moments so far. I have immense respect for New York and what its contributed to hip-hop as well as the Bay legend Sway.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Performing in Africa, Japan and Australia are on my bucket list for sure. Working with my favorite producer Pharrell Williams tops the list as I rapped, "Ima be the first rapper from Richmond with a Pharrell beat". Working with Ye is high on the list
