The Deepspace 5 collective features a number of underground hip-hop artists, most notably members of Pride and Labklik. These two crews hooked up at the 1998 Cruvention with Sev Statik, and the collective began working on what would ultimately result in an independently released five-song EP, followed by the Night We Called It a Day album for Uprok Records. Besides the aforementioned Pride crew -- Soul Heir the manCHILD, DJ Dust, Sintax the Terrific, and the Recon -- and Statik, Deepspace 5 also features Fred Bruno, Playdough, Listener, DJ Beat, Illtripp 1, the Beat Rabbi, and Stu Dent. ~ Jason Birchmeier
