Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a child I found a small box of cassettes in my parents' home. I slid one dark "blank" into the player, pressed down the "play" button and suddenly I was hearing John Lennon scream at the beginning of "Revolution". It made me want to create music.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bird Eater, Dead Mothers Make the Sun Set Botch, We Are the Romans (Deluxe Edition) David Bazan, Curse Your Branches I was in Bird Eater, and Dead Mothers Makes the Sun Set is quintessential of music I've recorded. We Are the Romans influenced me musically and opened my creativity. Curse Your Branches helped me process and shed religion.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Plague Proportions” I used audio clips from the Vincent Price film "Last Man on Earth". The "plague" represents how chaotic the pandemic felt as we marched through isolation with political, anti-science fighting among the human race.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I remember the excitement when Day of Less signed a recording contract with Rise Records and traveled to record in Portland, OR. That experience started a fire in me. I've released several albums between multiple bands since.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to play at a large metal festival. The idea of playing to a huge crowd of people who know my music well is thrilling.
