As a teenager in Jamaica, dancehall artist Demarco got his start working as the deejay/selector for Future Disco and performing at the legendary club Cactus.
â One of his earliest successes came in 2003 when two of his songs appeared on Elephant Manâs No. 1 album Good 2 Go.
â Demarco released a split 7-inch single with dancehall legend Bounty Killer, landing âWe Nuh Playâ as the flipside to Bounty Killerâs âWarlord Reloaded.â
â The vocoder-hooked single âFallen Soldiersâ was his breakthrough hit in 2007, and it spawned a popular remix featuring rapper Jim Jones in 2008.
â He was nominated for Urban Music Awardsâ Best Reggae Act in 2013 and 2014.
â In 2017, Akon signed him to his record label, with each artist appearing on the otherâs subsequent singlesâAkonâs âPredictableâ and Demarcoâs âNo Wahala.â
